Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.  Our ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, is great with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. This position also includes coordination with the HR Department of all payroll changes and support of day to day activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain associate payroll records including compensation, deductions, benefits and PTO within financial software.
  • Ensure that associate payroll is processed accurately and timely.
  • Review payroll deduction and benefit transactions for accuracy.
  • Prepare calculations and submissions of payroll taxes and benefit expenses.
  • Review and process associate expense reports.
  • Respond to payroll queries from associates in a timely manner.
  • Maintain associate confidence by keeping information confidential.
  • Support for external audits
  • Support HR activities as it relates to benefits and staffing.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting Teams

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Training:

  • Associates degree in accounting or related field. Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in accounting/payroll (prefer experience working for a general contractor).
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office based applications.
  • Experience with eCMS or CMIC a plus.
