Weis Builders attended the dedication ceremony of the new Cardinal Court Apartments. This public-private housing initiative, a first for Illinois State University, replaces outdated on-campus housing. An early completion allows students to move-in before the start of fall semester.
Cardinal Court provides students the independence of apartment-style living with the benefits of an on-campus location. Almost 900 students will enjoy furnished apartments, each with their own kitchen and living room. A state-of-the-art community center offers students the latest in academic, fitness and recreational amenities.
Student involvement was critical to project success. Comprehensive internship programs allowed four students to work side-by-side with Weis Builders associates. ISU’s College of Applied Science and Technology incorporated Cardinal Court into classroom curriculum through periodic site tours.
